Freight FAQ

Straight answers on hotshot, flatbed and oversize freight.

What is hotshot trucking?

Expedited or right-sized flatbed freight moved on a heavy-duty truck pulling a gooseneck or bumper-pull trailer, usually for loads that do not fill a full-size trailer.

How much can you haul?

Our capacity is up to 18,000 lbs per load, secured and tarped. Heavier freight needs a larger trailer, and we will say so.

How is a hotshot rate calculated?

Mainly by loaded miles, plus factors like deadhead (empty miles to pickup), tarping, equipment, urgency, loading time and oversize permits. Send the details and we quote the whole job, not just the mileage.

How fast can you pick up?

Often same day or next day within our region, depending on dispatch availability. Call for urgent loads.

Do I need a permit for a wide load?

Over 8 ft 6 in wide generally requires a permit, and each state on the route sets its own rules. We confirm requirements before booking.

How do you secure freight?

Chains and straps rated for the load, edge protection, and tarps where needed, following FMCSA cargo securement rules.

What paperwork is involved?

A bill of lading, a rate confirmation and a proof of delivery. Brokers can request our carrier packet by email.

Can I verify your authority?

Yes. Search USDOT 6912723 on the FMCSA SAFER site, linked in the footer and on the brokers page.

What is deadhead?

Miles driven empty, with no paying load. It is a real cost that affects rates, especially for one-way or remote pickups.

How do I get a quote?

Use the quote form, call (972) 800-7275, or book a call with Bernard. Include weight, dimensions, pickup and delivery locations and your date.

Load ready? Let’s roll.

Send pickup, delivery, weight and dimensions. Dispatch confirms equipment and next steps.
